PHOENIX — Two 15-year-old suspects were arrested for four shootings across the Valley from early January to late February.
One of the incidents on Jan. 23 left nine bullet holes at a home in El Mirage.
According to the El Mirage Police Department, detectives matched shell casings of two incidents that occurred near Moreno Park to two other crime scenes in Surprise and Phoenix.
At all four shootings, witnesses described a blue pickup truck with the shooter aiming from outside the passenger-side window.
Detectives in Surprise were able to obtain surveillance video of the truck and passed it along to the El Mirage police, who then located the vehicle parked at a business.
Warrants were served for the two juvenile suspects who were arrested in late February. Investigators determined that one of the boys was the shooter and the other was the driver in all four incidents.
“The working relationship between the El Mirage Police Department and the Surprise Police Department is a great example of teamwork and is reflective of how Valley police agencies work together,” El Mirage Police Chief Paul Marzocca said in a release.
The shooting spree began on Jan. 6 in Surprise and ended with two incidents on Feb. 8 in El Mirage and Phoenix.
