The White House remains confident about the strength of the economy, despite the President’s recent COVID diagnosis. On Friday, economic adviser Larry Kudlow stated business in government will continue.

He wished the President and the First Lady a fast recovery, noting the two have a “light case” of the virus. He further suggested he doesn’t think it will have “any lasting impact” on them.

“Through the chief, we’re getting tasks coming back from the President, so clearly he’s doing okay,” stated Kudlow. “I think this will be over before long, that’s what I hope and pray.”

Despite the first couple’s diagnoses, he reiterated White House protocols remain in place, including social distancing. Because officials are regularly tested, Kudlow added they don’t wear masks inside the White House.

The adviser also doubled down on his claim that the economy is recovering.

He has urged Democrats to agree to a stimulus deal on targeted areas, including assistance for small businesses and the airline industry.
