Clare Crawley responds to 'The Bachelorette' strip date controversy - Page Six

Clare Crawley isn’t backing down from her “Bachelorette” critics.

On Monday, ABC’s leading lady hit back at criticism regarding last week’s episode, in which some of the men stripped down during a dodgeball group date.

“@Clare_Crawley It’s awful you had the guys take off their clothes if The bachelor asked the women do the same things all heck would break loose. You were wrong. Juan Pablo should have had you strip,” one Twitter user wrote Sunday night.

Crawley, 39, who first appeared on Juan Pablo Galavis’ season of “The Bachelor” in 2014, then fired back with a dig at her past.

“You mean like this?” Crawley tweeted alongside a shirtless photo of Galavis, 39, who participated in a risque photoshoot during his season with then-contestants Andi Dorfman and Lucy Aragon.

Crawley, the 16th “Bachelorette” in franchise history, also “liked” a tweet that seemingly alluded to strip dodgeball being a production call.

“Hmmmm it’s almost like making contestants take their clothes off is a really tired production trick and wasn’t your idea at all,” the tweet read.

During last Tuesday’s episode, Crawley told the men how she wanted to raise the stakes of the competition, saying, “I think we should play strip dodgeball.”

Frontrunner Dale Moss did not participate in the strip dodgeball tournament, as he was on a different group date last week. Crawley, who gave 32-year-old Moss the first impression rose on night one, is rumored to depart her season early after falling for a contestant.

“The Bachelorette” airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on ABC.
