Clare Crawley caused a bit of a stir over the weekend when paparazzi photographed her wearing what appeared to be an engagement ring on her wedding finger.
On Oct. 19, "The Bachelorette" star took to Instagram to clear up any misconception about the jewelry.
"People have noticed I wear this ring on my wedding finger, and have asked why! The truth is because it is a commitment to myself first and foremost, to embody self-love," she captioned a video of her flashing the alleged ring in question. "In the past I found myself getting into relationships where there was little to no reciprocity, and in the end would feel depleted and empty."
She added, "This is my promise to myself, to make sure I always had enough self love that no matter what happened, I was committed to loving myself unconditionally, and that is something no man could take away from me."
In a separate Instagram video, she said she's worn the ring "for a while now" and it's something that "no man can ever take away from me."
"I would never want anything from a man that I couldn't do myself," she added, "so I got myself some diamonds."
Although Clare is currently the star of "The Bachelorette," it's suspected that she will cut her journey short. Multiple reports state she fell in love with Dale Moss and left the show with the former NFL player.
During the season premiere of "The Bachelorette," Clare appeared to be at a loss for words when she met Dale. In fact, immediately after meeting him she said, "I definitely feel like I just met my husband."
While neither Clare nor producers have confirmed the speculation, promos for the show hint at a major shakeup. Longtime host Chris Harrison appears to tell Clare she has "blown up 'The Bachelorette.'"
It's been reported that fan favorite Tayshia Adams eventually replaces Clare as this season's "Bachelorette."
When she was in prison in 2004, Martha Stewart got by with a little help from her not-so-close friends.
In a chat with Page Six, Rosie O'Donnell recalled visiting the lifestyle guru in the slammer, despite the two of them not really being close.
"I didn't really know her very much aside from the celebrity vernacular," Rosie said. "She had done my show but I didn't really know her, we hadn't been out for dinner, we weren't exactly friends. Before she left, I wrote her a letter that I thought it was so unfair and if she ever needed anything don't hesitate and I left my phone number."
She continued, "After she was in prison I got a call from her assistant who said she'd like you to come to visit and it kind of broke my heart to think that of all the people she knew she had to invite someone she sort of didn't know to come all the way to Lynchburg, Virginia. I had to get a plane and go there."
While there, Rosie remembered a conversation the two women had. At some point Rosie asked Martha what she missed most about the outside world. The comedian assumed the answer would involve family or pets. Martha, however, said she missed "the flavor of lemon." Rosie responded by joking that she would have smuggled a lemon into prison if she knew ahead of time.
With this in mind, Rosie had an Italian Capri lemon tree waiting on Martha's front porch when she got home.
Martha spent five months in prison for insider trading. The experience in prison, she later told Katie Couric, was "horrifying."
Halsey is locked out!
On Oct. 19, the singer revealed on social media that she shaved her head, briefly debuting the new look in a video.
In the video, Halsey looks directly at a camera while wearing a brown wig. She then flips her hair to reveal her shaved head.
"I did it," she mouthed in the clip on Instagram. She added a few smiling emojis in her caption.
Halsey's fans seemed to love the look, with many vocalizing their pleasure.
"YAS QUEEN," one fan said. Another said, "Ugh it looks absolutely amazing."
The "Bad at Love" singer often keeps her fans on their toes with her hair styles. Last week she donned braids.
Late last year she shocked her fans when she unveiled her naturally curly hair, giving her a strikingly different look. At the time, fans even claimed the hair was fake.
"I can't believe I spent a whole damn year growing out my curls under those wigs for y'all to say my natural hair looks like a wig," she tweeted last year.
Speaking recently to Elle Australia, the "Without Me" singer spoke of her natural look.
"I've waited for that moment my entire life and there I am, with the hair that my mother and father gave me and with [minimal] makeup on, in a way I'm proud of," she said. "To be cool with the world seeing me that way… that says a lot to me about how I've grown as a person. I feel really happy."
Jason DeRulo showed some over-the-top generosity after his latest song topped the charts.
On Oct. 19, the singer posted a celebratory Instagram video that shows him buying a drink for everyone at Catch, a hugely popular and pricey Los Angeles restaurant, after "Savage Love" nabbed the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart.
The final tally: $112,742.30.
"Listen, it's a celebration of Savage Love going number one on Billboard charts," the singer told his fellow diners while raising a toast. "Cheers to everyone in the building."
During the video, Jason's girlfriend, Jena Frumes, kisses him and says, "Congrats, babe." She later says, "My baby hit No. 1 on the Billboard."
The chart-topping tune also features massively popular K-pop group BTS and New Zealand singer Jawsh 685. Jason gave his fellow contributors a shoutout in his Instagram caption, telling them, "We did it." But several fans accused Jason of editing the post to shoutout BTS after he allegedly failed to initially include his collaborators in his celebratory social media moment.
Likewise, many of the singer's followers completely credited the pop group, not Jason, for the song's success. Ironically, BTS's song "Dynamite" sits at No. 2 on the Hot 100 chart.
Amid much speculation, Taraji P. Henson has confirmed that she and Kelvin Hayden have gone their separate ways and ended their engagement.
While appearing on "The Breakfast Club" on Oct. 19, the "Empire" star spoke about the split from her now-former fiancé.
"I'm dedicated to the Black man, y'all. I just turned 50 and I mean, I hadn't said it yet, but it didn't work out," she said. "I tried. I was, like, therapy. Let's do the therapy thing, but if you're both not on the same page with that then you feel like, you're taking it on yourself, and that's not a fair position for anybody to play in a relationship."
At the end of the day, Taraji and Kelvin, a former Indianapolis Colts player, realized that they were not responsible for each other's happiness and needed to "first make ourselves happy to make each other happy."
"All of my relationships started looking the same," she added. "Two broken people trying to pick up the pieces."
Fans began wondering about the status of Tarji and Kelvin's relationship last month when she celebrated her 50th birthday in Mexico without him. In Instagram images, she didn't appear to be wearing her engagement ring either.
Adding to the suspicion, Kelvin had not been seen on Taraji's Instagram in months.
Coincidentally, the duo should, in theory, be married by now. Taraji and Kelvin, who announced their engagement in May 2018, were set to tie the knot this summer, but the coronavirus pandemic forced them to postpone their nuptials.
Lily James is maintaining her silence.
One day after canceling her appearance on the "Today" show, the actress has decided to forgo her appearance on another TV show.
Metro UK said Lily was set to promote "Rebecca," her new film with Armie Hammer, on BBC's "The Graham Norton Show" on Oct. 23. However, she has decided against it.
The cancelations come after Lily was spotted getting romantic while exploring Rome with her "The Pursuit of Love" co-star Dominic West, who has been married to Irish landscape designer Catherine FitzGerald for 10 years. Published pictures showed Dominic caressing Lily's head and kissing her neck. Other images showed them on a shared electric scooter.
Last week, a source told The Daily Mail that Dominic, 50, and Lily, 31, spent two nights in a romantic suite at the Hotel De La Ville, which offers panoramic views of Rome and is close to the famous Spanish steps.
In the photos of Dominic and Lily, he is not wearing his wedding ring, leading many to wonder if he and Catherine had quietly separated. However, that's not the case. Hours after the photos of the alleged tryst were published, Dominic flew home to the United Kingdom. Then, on Oct. 13, he emerged from his house with his wife to show a united front. After he and Catherine kissed for photographers, the actor, still not wearing his wedding band, handed the paparazzi a note signed by the two of them. It read, "Our marriage is strong and we're very much still together."
Amid the drama, Dominic's past quotes have surfaced in which he argued that monogamy is not "natural."
"It's one of those subjects that people have very strong opinions about because everybody is open to it and can experience it. It affects kings as much as it does snails," he told Harper's Bazaar last year. "A lot of people have experienced it and a lot of people fear it. I suppose people suspect that the conventions that we have agreed upon in society, that a man and women can stay together for life or a certain amount of time without cheating, that they're not really staying together based on anything other than how society thinks they should behave."
He added, "It's not the necessarily natural way to be, therefore there will always be adultery and intrigue about it."
As of now, Metro UK says Lily is still set to appear on "The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon" on Oct. 21.
Bravo's filming of Cynthia Bailey's wedding was upended by a global pandemic and a natural disaster.
TMZ reported that the TV network was set to film the nuptials for an episode of "The Real Housewives of Atlanta," but things took a major turn. Initially, Cynthia and Mike Hill were set to say "I do" during an outdoor event in Georgia. However, the reality TV star and her wedding planner decided to move the ceremony indoor as Hurricane Delta was making its way to the region.
Executives at Bravo quickly became weary of the change due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and determined it wasn't safe or appropriate to send staff to film the wedding, as the indoor venue had limited space and a 181-person guest list.
It's expected that the wedding will still be shown on the reality TV show, as Cynthia had her own camera crew on hand, and she will turn over footage to Bravo, TMZ said.
While many might be upset about Bravo's weather-assisted change of heart, Cynthia was reportedly fine with it. In fact, since a "Housewives" crew wasn't there, there was less to coordinate and less to stress about.
Still, the couple wasn't blind to the pandemic, as they reportedly took several measures to make sure their wedding was safe: Guests were required to get their temperatures checked and wash their hands upon entry, all confirmed guests had to have negative COVID tests within a few days of the wedding, and masks were required throughout the ceremony unless, with the exception of when guests were eating or drinking.
"Home improvement" star Zachery Ty Bryan was arrested in Oregon on Oct. 16 after allegedly choking his girlfriend, a report states.
According to TMZ, neighbors called police in Eugene, Oregon, after hearing a scuffle coming from an apartment. When police arrived, the found the actor, who played Tim Allen's eldest son on the popular sitcom, sitting outside the apartment unit. His girlfriend, meanwhile, was hiding at a friend's place nearby.
As police questioned the two of them, the woman claimed that Zachery, 39, put his hands around her throat and squeezed. In addition, the woman alleged that she tried calling 911 during the midst of the incident, but said Zachery took her phone away.
She ultimately escaped to her friend's place.
Zachery was arrested on charges of felony strangulation and fourth-degree assault and interfering with making a report, both of which are misdemeanors.
As of Oct. 17, Zachery was still in jail in Lane County.
At their ages, Stevie Nicks could actually be Harry Styles' grandmother. In reality, they're fiercely close friends.
In a new chat with Steller, the 72-year-old rocker was asked about her friendship with the former One Directioner, whom she chose to induct her into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame last year.
"What really made me choose Harry is that he's so funny and so well spoken, and also that we're just such good friends. I knew he would really delve into my history and that he'd put it together beautifully, because he's a songwriter and he could tell my story," she said.
Harry, 26, performed with the Fleetwood Mac singer at the Hall of Fame ceremony.
"I thought that of all the people who would get a kick out of me being the first woman in the world to go into the Hall of Fame, it would be Harry," she said. "And I'm so glad I did because he was hysterical, but he was also able to tell everybody who I really am behind the shawl."
The chat came amid a resurgence of Fleetwood Mac's song "Dreams," thanks to a viral TikTok video.
In early October, a video went hugely viral of a man, later identified as Nathan Apodaca, skateboarding down an expressway while guzzling Ocean Spray juice directly from the bottle and vibing along to Fleetwood Mac's 1977 hit "Dreams."
The video was such a hit that Mick Fleetwood actually recreated it. Further, the initial video (and its many recreations) sparked interest in Fleetwood Mac's 43-year-old song. Apple said it saw a 221 percent increase in streams of "Dreams" in the days following the viral video. It also made its way onto the Rolling Stone Top 100 Songs Chart. The song currently sits at No. 3.
