Tomorrow will be a Weather Authority Alert as strong and severe storms are expected to impact parts Northeast Florida and Southeast Georgia.
The Weather Alert will be in effect from 7 a.m. through at least 1 p.m. Sunny and cooler afternoons will follow the front. The weather looks great for the opening of the Clay County Fair on Thursday.
A warm start under cloudy skies with lows in the 60s to low 70s. Afternoon highs will only reach the mid to upper 70s. Wind SW 15-20 mph with stronger gusts.
Timeline of Arrival
7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Scattered showers will stretch from Waycross, Georgia to Lake City
10 a.m. to 11 a.m.
Widespread rain with storms for Alachua, Union, Bradford, Baker, Charlton, Nassau, Camden, and Glynn counties
12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Storms wind down inland, but continue along the eastern side of the viewing area, Putnam, Clay, Duval, St. Johns, Interstate 95 and the beaches
The main threats will be damaging wind, hail and brief downpours.
