State troopers: Armstrong County man charged in rape of girl lasting 7 years
A New Bethlehem man is in jail after being charged in the rape of a child that lasted seven years. Corey James Botelho, 29, is facing 50 charges in this case, including rape of a child, sexual assault and forcible compulsion. State police identified the victim as a Mayport, Clarion County, girl. A report said the rapes occurred at various locations in Armstrong County. The victim was eight years old when the assaults first began, according to troopers. Botelho was arrested Friday and is being held in the Armstrong County Prison after being unable to post bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 19.
