Weather experts have predicted 15 days of snow will hit Britain.
However, the snow won’t reach parts of North Yorkshire, Manchester and Cheshire until the early hours of Christmas Eve before the threat of another Beast from the East in the new year, Yorkshire Live reports. Experts at Exacta Weather say a change in a polar vortex will see the mercury drop, resulting in perfect conditions for show.
Christmas Day is expected to see heavy rain for the rest of mainland Britain as Scotland will be the only place where there will be snow on December 25. The white stuff is currently predicted to last until Monday, January 8, in Scotland with weather maps showing a deep 25cm in parts of the Highlands.
Exacta Weather forecaster James Madden said there is a growing risk of another Sudden Stratospheric Warming (SSW) event which could lead to the “threat of another Beast from the East in the new year”. He added that there is a “risk of prolonged cold and snowy spell as we head into the early part of January”.
He told GB News: “There are now strong indications for a major SSW to occur during the early part of January and, if it does, many parts of the UK can expect to end up in the freezer with snow events and severe cold weather.”

Outlook for Monday to Wednesday:
An unsettled Christmas Day with rain and strong winds, plus snow over the mountains of Scotland. Calmer for Boxing Day with some sunshine, but rain returns for Wednesday.
