Boston Red Sox Season Review: 2021’s lasting memory - Over The Monster

It’s now been a week since the Red Sox were eliminated from postseason play down in Houston, and while they certainly lasted a lot longer than most of us had ever expected it’s still tough to watch baseball that does not include them. For the most part we’re already starting to look forward to the offseason, but there’s also always time to look back and reflect on the year that was, especially in a year like this one that seems like a legitimate stepping stone to something potentially great in Boston. There are certainly more steps to be made, and the hardest steps at that, but 2021 was undeniably a big step in that direction.

And so, we want to look back this weekend on the 2021 season for this edition of FanPost Friday. We want to know the most lasting memory you think we will have for the 2021 season. We’re not talking about the general minutia we’re all talking about now, seven days removed from the season. We’re talking about years down the line when we look back at this season. What is going to be the biggest part of the year we remember? It can be a specific player’s breakout. It can be a specific game or stretch of games. It can be a positional group, or non-player in the organization. Or it can be just one overarching theme over the entire season. There’s a lot of different paths to take on this one, but we want to know what we’ll be thinking about the 2021 season in, say, 2031.

Leave us a FanPost, and you could be featured on the front page on Sunday ahead of round one. As always, here is our handy guide to making a FanPost.
