Another user, @sarah_shyrah, said they were caught in congestion for five hours at Gombak.
In an update on Twitter, the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM) said there was high traffic flow along the East Coast Expressway 1 from Km76 to the Karak toll plaza as of 8.50am.
At 10:08am, there was a two-hour delay on the Kuala Lumpur-Karak Expressway from Gombak to the Bentong Petronas station, with commuters advised to use Jalan Gombak Lama as an alternative.
On the North-South Expressway (PLUS), heavy congestion was recorded from Sungai Buaya to Bukit Tagar, with a two-hour traffic jam from Slim River to Gopeng at 10.07am.
A one-hour traffic jam was also recorded from Alor Pongsu to Bukit Tambun. The route from Nilai to the Seremban rest stop was also busy.
There will be four days of holiday from tomorrow to Monday.
LLM expects an increase in traffic volume of up to 2.3 million vehicles daily on the three major expressways starting yesterday in conjunction with the Aidilfitri celebration.
