Lasting impact of Twentyfive Mile Fire will be discussed during online meeting - NCWLIFE News

Residents can join a community meeting Wednesday to learn how the Twentyfive Mile Fire has changed the landscape around Lake Chelan.

Representatives from local, state and federal agencies will share findings from a Burned Area Emergency Response assessment which surveyed the fire zone.

The Twentyfive Mile fire burned more than 22,000 acres near Fields Point Landing and destroyed two homes.

It also damaged many public trails and made mudslides more likely as moisture accumulates through fall and winter.

The meeting takes place by Zoom, starting at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. A link to the meeting will be available on the Cascadia Conservation District website.

Those participating in the meeting include representatives from the U.S. Forest Service,
Washington Department of Natural Resources, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Cascadia Conservation District, NOAA National Weather Service, Chelan County Public Works and Chelan County Emergency Management .
