Destiny 2 Player Dies to Allied Finisher and Lasting Impression Rocket - Game Rant

Destiny 2's gameplay can vary a lot depending on what players do and what weapons, abilities, and mods they use, meaning that every PvP game and every PvE activity is potentially very different from the next. Some interactions can yield unexpected results, too, which is how most of Destiny 2's glitches come to light, such as the several weird Telesto bugs that were discovered throughout Season of the Lost. When Bungie introduced Finishers in Destiny 2, players assumed they would mainly be a cosmetic effect for killing off enemies with low health, but they quickly became a core gameplay element.

For example, Finishers can spawn Special or Heavy ammo for players and their allies based on their loadout, which makes them much more valuable than some anticipated. Furthermore, Finishers can also allow Destiny 2 players to spare some ammo while fighting tough combatants, like Champions, who can regenerate their health if they are not constantly stunned with appropriate mods. However, Finishers were also used to cause a quite funny glitch that made players launch Raid bosses into the distance, to their death, making for very quick and entertaining runs.

Because Destiny 2 enemies don't have static death animations, but instead ragdoll physics, enemies don't really disappear upon death and their bodies remain in the world with collision effects tied to them. A Reddit user by the name of WaretaGarasu shared a post of them playing through a Nightfall with a Fireteam, and they launch a rocket with a Lasting Impression perk onto a dying Champion to finish it. However, another player gets close enough to the Champion to use a proper Finisher, which launches the Champion's dead body - with the rocket still attached to it - towards the original shooter.

Lasting Impression is a perk that normally allows Destiny 2 players to deal more damage with their rocket launchers due to the rocket inflicting damage on impact and more damage on a delayed explosion. In this case, however, this strategy resulted in WaretaGarasu's death when the Champion was hurdled towards them and the delayed rocket exploded, making for a funny interaction and a horrible death.

Weird things happen all the time in Destiny 2, and that's because the game is so huge that it's hard to predict how all the moving pieces are going to tie together. An example comes from a Destiny 2 player who made their Super last for over 2 hours simply by using a specific Exotic in an area densely populated by enemies.

Destiny 2 is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
