On Saturday, Warner Bros. released a new trailer for The Batman, their upcoming action film from director Matt Reeves exploring the never-before-told story of an orphaned plutocrat who dresses up in a rubber suit and beats the shit out of street criminals. In the movie, Robert Pattinson’s Batman will face off against an unprecedented trio of supervillains: Zoë Kravitz as Catwoman, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, and Paul Dano as the Riddler. Ok, so although that trailer did contain the most bataclysmic collection of super-criminals that ever plotted to take over the world, it was not a trailer for The Batman, which as far as anyone knows does not feature the Joker. However, The Batman’s collection of super-criminals is still pretty bataclysmic, plus, there’s a sample of the Riddler’s handiwork in the trailer, a riddle that internet sleuths have already solved.
