Harry and Meghan started dating in 2016, and after a whirlwind romance the couple were married in May 2018. The Sussexes left the Royal Family’s full time duties this year, and have since moved to the US to start a new private life.
A new biography, Finding Freedom, has said the Duchess chafed against the traditions of the Royal Family.
Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand, who co-wrote the tell-all, did so with access to the royals close friends who claimed she was upset with the Royal Family’s rules and traditions.
In the book, the authors wrote Meghan was upset by a senior Kensington Palace aide, who told her not to engage with the media and “not to smile at the paparazzi, which they claimed would egg on the photographers”.
The authors claimed Meghan “felt frustrated and emotional” after the phone call, and believed having someone “tell her what kind of jewellery to wear or not to smile at a photographer was too much”.

But some fans of Meghan have taken issue with Harry for not properly introducing his wife to the Royal Family.
One said on Reddit: “I truly believe that Harry failed Meghan and Meghan was keen to marry Harry as quickly as possible.
“Harry failed to prepare her – either due to her ability to act, thinking she’d be able to adapt quickly; or due to fear of losing her; or due to god knows what. But he failed her.”
They added later the couple “failed to understand that the true nature of being a royal is adapting to changes within the institution first and then changing the institution from within”.
But the new book also said Meghan often felt isolated in the Royal Family, and told a close friend she was "very sad" her time as a Duchess did not work out as planned.
Mr Scobie then added in an interview after the book was published Meghan did not fit within the Royal Family.
He added to The Cut: “When we look at the immediate royal family, I think they clearly did support Harry and Meghan to some extent.
“Unfortunately the institution itself is not built to handle someone coming in who is different, or is as dramatically different as Meghan was.”
Meghan has herself admitted she struggled with the pressures of being a royal.
In an interview with ITV, she said she tried to adopt a "British sensibility of a stiff upper lip" as a way to cope with the struggles.
The Duchess added: “I never thought that this would be easy, but I thought it would be fair and that's the part that's really hard to reconcile.”
